Mr. Hwang believes that it is important to be a lifetime student of history and to learn from past mistakes. He believes that regardless of how hard he works, he really can’t be sure. Hence, it is very challenging for him to be confident about his investment/trading opinions. In the context of global financial markets, he can do a huge amount of work and still be deadly wrong and that could happen very often. He believes that the markets are very expensive places to find out the accuracy of his opinions. He believes that to know what he does NOT know is more important than to know what he does know. He believes that, however, it is not what he does NOT know that hurts him most; it’s what he thinks he knows for sure that just isn’t so.
